Steering towards environmental gains: circulareconomy targets supporting innovative business

The project aims to explore how CE goals can be designed to 1) contribute to better environmental policy, i.e., reduce environmental impact, and 2) provide guidance for the sustainability efforts of businesses. This will be explored through, among other methods, a review of CE research, interviews and workshops with relevant stakeholders, as well as an analysis of how goals can be used to design steering instruments within the automotive industry. The choice of industry is motivated by the fact that it constitutes a large share of total resource use within the Swedish economy, which will further increase with the transition to electric vehicles, and because the industry plays a significant role in the economy and employment in Sweden.
