RE-PCB
RE-PCB is a springboard to gather momentum for change towards the mission of achieving, by 2040, Net zero greenhouse gas emissions in the manufacturing of Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) and Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) in Sweden.
The project has identified materials (e.g. new paper composites and adhesives), processes (e.g. composite manufacture, metal patterning and system integration) and practices capable of lowering the carbon footprint by 50-75% but these are yet to be fully assessed and validated before being widely accepted and adopted.
To pave the way for the materials/processes/practices towards adoption RE-PCB will adopt a system perspective that will enable a better understanding of the challenges and defining solutions. To achieve this, RE-PCB unites national and international actors and initiatives to reshape Sweden’s PCB industry as European leaders in the transition towards resilient, sustainable manufacturing of electronics by 2040.
