Recycled Graphite Stage 2 – ReGraph 2

Graphite is a critical raw material essential for batteries, hydrogen systems, and energy
storage technologies. Today, Europe is heavily dependent on imported graphite, facing
significant supply risks. ReGraph Stage 2 advances the recycling of graphite recovered from
spent batteries into high-value industrial applications, supporting Sweden’s and Europe’s
resilience and green transition.

Building on the successful outcomes of Stage 1, the project will validate and scale the use of
recycled graphite in four key applications: Li-ion battery anodes, non-metallic flow plates,
graphene production, and fire-safe, multifunctional fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) composites. The ReGraph 2 project combines innovation, sustainability, and industrial relevance to drive circular material flows and reduce carbon emissions across sectors.
