INZITE – Innovative Collaborative Industry Training for the Environment
Industry needs to transition to more circular practices to achieve climate goals and net-zero emissions. Although extensive knowledge exists on how products, processes, and business models can become more sustainable, this knowledge is too rarely put into practice. Companies face barriers such as limited customer demand, uncertainty about legislation, short-term business models, siloed organizational structures, and insufficient lifecycle data—resulting in weak incentives for real change.
In this project, we collaborate with IUC Dalarna and its broad network of manufacturing companies in the region to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises’ capacity to drive their own transition. By jointly developing innovative learning concepts and approaches for collaborative competence development, we are building long-term structures for sustainable change.
Participating companies work closely together, share experiences, and support each other’s transition processes through collaborative design and development methods. IUC Dalarna plays a central role in building regional capacity and strengthening the long-term sustainability efforts of industry. The project is led by Lund University, Department of Design Sciences at LTH, which is responsible for developing pedagogical approaches and learning concepts tailored to the needs of the participating SMEs.
Together, we are creating the conditions for a more circular, competitive, and sustainable industry in Dalarna—and a model that can be scaled nationally.
