Education Modules about Circularity (EMaC)

The Swedish manufacturing industry faces growing pressure to reduce its environmental footprint. Meeting future requirements on emissions, resource efficiency, and resilience demands a transition toward circular practices. To succeed, employees across functions must strengthen their knowledge and competence in circularity. Building such competence will both support national and international climate goals and secure the industry’s long-term competitiveness.

To meet this industrial competence need we have established a project entitled “Education Modules about Circularity (EMaC)”. EMaC aims to strengthen circularity in the Swedish manufacturing industry by developing, delivering, and evaluating innovative education modules. These modules will address industry needs and be designed for multiple levels and stakeholders: tailored short courses for company staff as well as integrated elements in PhD education for both industrial and academic students. By emphasizing flexibility and customization, the modules will adapt to diverse participants and contexts. Their implementation will be followed by systematic evaluation to capture impact, drive continuous improvement, and maximize long-term value for industry and academia alike.
