ReLoop Electronics – Strategies for resource efficiency and resilience in the Swedish electronics industry through reuse

The Swedish electronics industry is essential for electrification, digitalization, and achieving climate goals. Despite this, the sector faces major challenges: increasing amounts of electronic waste, a high dependence on critical raw materials, and fragile global value chains. These issues threaten companies’ competitiveness and their ability to reach net‑zero emissions.

Led by Svensk Elektronik, the project will develop knowledge and tools to promote resource efficiency and resilience through circular strategies such as reuse, remanufacturing, and recycling. The project focuses on five key areas: materials, product design, business models, value chains, and policy. In close collaboration with industry, and through case studies, we will develop a concrete and practical handbook as well as a roadmap for stakeholders in the sector.

The result will be reduced resource use, greater resilience, and a clear shift toward a competitive Swedish electronics sector with net‑zero emissions.
