Almedalen: How can we build competitiveness through net zero?

Swedish manufacturing plays a crucial role in national welfare and economic growth. While the sector’s direct emissions are decreasing, and Swedish green technologies are achieving global success, important questions remain. Where are the key levers for further emissions reductions? And how can the transition to net zero, in an increasingly uncertain global landscape, strengthen competitiveness?

The seminar will present new data on the manufacturing industry, followed by a discussion on how the journey toward net zero is a critical driver of competitiveness—particularly in a more turbulent global environment. What role can an innovation programme play in enabling the industrial ecosystem to take rapid steps toward a more resilient and competitive manufacturing sector with net-zero greenhouse gas emissions?
