Manufacturing Outlook – What does it take to accelerate the transition of the manufacturing industry to net zero?

A warm welcome to the launch of Net Zero Industry’s new report Manufacturing Outlook, which presents an overview of the Swedish manufacturing industry’s economic development, greenhouse gas emissions, companies, and workforce.

Swedish manufacturing is one of the country’s key engines of growth. It accounts for one-third of exports, makes a significant contribution to GDP, and employs hundreds of thousands of people. Over a long period, the industry has managed to combine economic growth with reduced emissions—but progress is not fast enough.

At the same time, Net Zero Industry’s new report shows that the largest climate impact occurs outside companies’ own factory gates. What does this mean for the path to net zero emissions? Where should we focus to accelerate the transition and strengthen the industry’s competitiveness and resilience?

In this webinar, we highlight the key findings and insights from the report and discuss what is required to further accelerate the industry’s transition.

Participants:
Klas Cullbrand, Innovation Strategist, Net Zero Industry
James Lundström, Head of Sustainable Products and Governance, Volvo Cars
Maria Rosendahl, Head of Industry Policy, Teknikföretagen
