INDENZ Scaling Industrial SiteElectrification Solutions for Net Zero
The INDENZ project aims to accelerate the development, implementation, and scaling of Industrial Site Electrification Solutions (ISES) to drive a system-level transformation toward a resource-efficient, resilient, and fossil-free Swedish manufacturing industry. By integrating electric vehicles, charging infrastructure, digital features, and advanced services into customized site-level systems, ISES offers significant potential to reduce CO₂ emissions, increased resources efficiency, and total cost of ownership across industrial operations.
Led by Luleå University of Technology and co-created with partners including Volvo CE, Epiroc, ABB, Hitachi Energy, Svensk Fordonsladdning, Swecon, Boliden, Stena Recycling,Skanska and Business Sweden, the project addresses key challenges such as limited solution integration, firm-centric business models, and barriers to global market scaling. The project will develop and pilot at least four ISES, co-create multi-actor business models, address systemic barriers, and produce a strategic roadmap for national and international scaling. The results are expected to contribute significantly to Sweden’s net-zero goals while strengthening the global competitiveness of the Swedish industry.
